Election Day: Tuesday, November 3

All 45 Canyon County polling locations open Tuesday, November 3 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with Idaho voters deciding four statewide measures plus state and county races. Greenleaf's precinct is small enough that every ballot genuinely counts, and in-person early voting at the Canyon County Elections Building ran through October 30 for anyone who voted ahead. Kilroy Coffee Klatch: Tuesday, November 3, 10 AM-Noon

Every first Tuesday, the Warhawk Air Museum at 201 Municipal Drive in Nampa hosts the Kilroy Coffee Klatch, Idaho's largest monthly gathering of veterans, from 10:00 AM to noon. Coffee, donuts, and conversation are free for veterans and open to all with museum admission. It began in 2001 when World War II veterans asked the museum for a monthly place to meet, and it is a meaningful way to mark the approach of Veterans Day, about 20 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd.

Holiday Makers Market: November 6-7 at the Nampa Civic Center

The Nampa Civic Center's November market, formerly the Craft & Chocolate Affaire, runs Friday, November 6 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with more than 100 artisans, a holiday scavenger hunt, and the community Christmas tree. It is the traditional kickoff of the valley's craft-fair season, and a cozy way to start the gift list about 20 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Read our full guide.

Warhawk Veterans Breakfast: Saturday, November 7, 8 AM-Noon

The Warhawk Air Museum hosts its 23rd annual Veterans Breakfast Saturday, November 7 from 8:00 AM to noon at 201 Municipal Drive in Nampa, a pancake breakfast honoring those who served, with admission covering the breakfast and museum access. It is the museum's big annual salute to veterans and a fitting lead-in to Veterans Day four days later, about 20 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd.

Jo Koy: Saturday, November 7, 8 PM

Comedian Jo Koy brings his national tour to the Ford Idaho Center Arena in Nampa on Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 PM. Known for high-energy storytelling about family and everyday life, he has become one of the biggest stand-up draws in the country, and the arena has become a reliable fall stop for big-name comedy and concerts. A great date-night or group outing about 20 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Tickets through the venue.

Eagle Holiday Bazaar & the Fall Indoor Flea Market: November 7-8

Two new shopping stops open the first full November weekend. The Eagle Holiday Bazaar at Eagle High School fills Saturday and Sunday, November 7-8 with roughly 150 juried local artisans, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday, with free admission. The Treasure Valley Fall Indoor Flea Market runs the same weekend at Expo Idaho in Boise with local vendors and live entertainment. Both are a short drive up I-84 from 20602 Academy Rd.

Life at 20602 Academy Rd: November at Home

November is when 20602 Academy Rd earns its keep. The fully fenced yard and fire pit are made for the first frosts, the covered patio gives you a warm spot to enjoy the season, and the solar panels with battery backup plus tankless water heater keep the home comfortable as the nights turn cold. The town's Country Christmas Bazaar and the Winter Wonderland Festival at Indian Creek Plaza are both two and a half weeks out, so this week the home feels like the calm before the holiday season, minutes from Caldwell and everything on the calendar above.
