November 2026 Near Greenleaf: Winter Wonderland, Craft Fairs, and the Holiday Countdown

· By Paul Knighton

November is the quiet bridge between harvest season and the holidays in the Treasure Valley, and this year it is packed: the Winter Wonderland Festival lights up Indian Creek Plaza November 20-22, big-name concerts and comedy land in Nampa, local craft fairs start the holiday shopping season, and Greenleaf's own community traditions get going. Here is your month by month guide to the weeks ahead, most of it within a 20-minute drive of 20602 Academy Rd.

Veterans Day: Ceremony in Caldwell, Parade in Boise

Veterans Day lands Wednesday, November 11, and the closest ceremony to Greenleaf is the annual gathering at the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall at 1101 Cleveland Blvd at 11:00 AM, with the City of Caldwell participating. The state's largest parade, the Idaho Veterans Parade, steps off in downtown Boise on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 AM to noon under the theme "United in Service: 1776 to 2026, Celebrating 250 Years of Service and Sacrifice." Both are moving community traditions worth the short drive from Greenleaf. Read our full Veterans Day guide.

Greenleaf City Council: Early November Meeting

The Greenleaf City Council holds its regular November meeting at Greenleaf City Hall, 20523 Whittier Dr, following October's gathering. With the new mayor leading a town that is growing, the monthly meetings are the easiest way to follow water plans, the fiber build-out, and community priorities, about five minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Agendas and minutes are posted at greenleaf-idaho.us.

A Night Out in Nampa: Fall Tasting, Jo Koy, and Three Days Grace

Three big evenings anchor the first half of November at the Ford Idaho Center and beyond. The Venue at Wood Farms in Caldwell hosts its Fall Tasting on Thursday, November 5, an evening of seasonal food and drink pairings at one of Canyon County's popular event venues. Comedian Jo Koy brings his national tour to the Ford Idaho Center Arena on Saturday, November 7, and rock band Three Days Grace headlines the arena on Saturday, November 14 as part of its Alienation Tour. All are about 20 minutes from Greenleaf; tickets through the venues.

Winter Wonderland Festival: November 20-22

The centerpiece of the season returns to Indian Creek Plaza in downtown Caldwell from Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22, 6:00 to 9:00 PM each evening. More than 1.5 million lights line the creek, an outdoor ice-skating ribbon opens for the season, Santa and horse-drawn carriage rides come to the plaza, the city Christmas tree is lit, and a winter market of local vendors fills the streets. The light display stays on from the weekend before Thanksgiving through mid-January, free admission, drawing over 30,000 visitors each year just 11 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Holiday Craft Fairs Kick Off Local Shopping

November is when the handmade-holiday season starts. The Vallivue High School Holiday Craft Fair runs Saturday, November 21 starting at 9:00 AM in Caldwell, with dozens of local vendors selling crafts, gifts, and holiday treats, falling the same weekend as Winter Wonderland's opening. Greenleaf's own Country Christmas Bazaar returns to the community center in November with homemade crafts and gifts from local artisans. And the popular Light the World Giving Machines are scheduled to return to Indian Creek Plaza this holiday season, making it easy to buy meals and hygiene kits for people in need. Shopping local around Greenleaf means supporting neighbors while checking every name off your list.

Thanksgiving Week and the Festival of Trees

Thanksgiving lands Thursday, November 26, with Small Business Saturday on November 28 for those who like to shop local with a purpose. The Canyon County Festival of Trees brings its Christmas tree lighting and holiday festivities to the Nampa area on Monday, November 30, kicking off December alongside the Winter Wonderland light display, which keeps glowing through mid-January. After Thanksgiving dinner, the fully equipped kitchen and cozy living areas at 20602 Academy Rd make a warm home base, and the fenced yard and fire pit are ready for fall cleanup and holiday gatherings alike.

Why November Is a Great Month to Look at Greenleaf

A November visit is the honest test of a community: the weather turns, the holidays start, and the town settles into its winter habits. Greenleaf passes easily. The Wednesday farmers market trades summer produce for fall roots and honey, the pumpkin patches finish their season, and the calendar fills with craft fairs, concerts, and festival lights just minutes away. Meanwhile, a home like 20602 Academy Rd comes into its own, with solar power and battery backup, a tankless water heater, whole-house filtration, and a powered shop that make winter living comfortable and efficient.
