Winter in Greenleaf: Holiday Season Preview 2026
Winter is one of the most magical seasons in the Treasure Valley, and for anyone living in Greenleaf it is all minutes away. From the Winter Wonderland Festival lighting up Indian Creek Plaza to Greenleaf's own Country Christmas Bazaar and the community's cozy small-town celebrations, the holiday season near 20602 Academy Rd is packed with things to see and do without ever leaving the area.
Winter Wonderland at Indian Creek Plaza: November 20-22
The centerpiece of the valley's holiday season is the Winter Wonderland Festival at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell, opening Friday, November 20 and running through Sunday, November 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM each evening. More than 1.5 million lights line the creek, the plaza's outdoor ice-skating ribbon (Idaho's only one) opens for the season, and visitors can meet Santa, ride a horse-drawn carriage, shop a winter market of local vendors, and watch the city Christmas tree lighting. The light display stays on from the weekend before Thanksgiving through mid-January 2027. Free admission, drawing over 30,000 visitors each year, just 11 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Greenleaf's Country Christmas Bazaar
One of the best ways to kick off the season close to home is Greenleaf's Country Christmas Bazaar, held each November at the Greenleaf community center and Greenleaf Friends Academy. Dozens of vendors set up with handmade crafts, gifts, holiday treats, and home décor, a perfect place to find unique presents and support local artisans while catching up with neighbors. Watch the town of Greenleaf and Greenleaf Friends Academy calendars for this year's dates, typically in early to mid-November.
Light the World Giving Machines
The popular Light the World Giving Machines return to Indian Creek Plaza for the holiday season. The bright red vending machines make it easy to buy meals, hygiene kits, and other gifts for people in need, and they have become one of the plaza's most meaningful traditions. The Caldwell Chamber's charity luncheon in mid-October builds toward their arrival, and the machines stay up through the holidays, just 11 minutes from Greenleaf.
Greenleaf Community Christmas Celebration
Greenleaf Friends Church hosts a community Christmas celebration in December with caroling, a nativity program, and warm small-town holiday spirit. It is the kind of gathering that makes Greenleaf feel like home: neighbors coming together to celebrate the season in true small-town fashion, right in the heart of the community near 20602 Academy Rd.
