Fall Harvest Guide 2026: Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes, and U-Pick Orchards Near Greenleaf

· By Paul Knighton

October is when the Treasure Valley around Greenleaf turns into one big harvest celebration. Within a 20- to 30-minute drive of 20602 Academy Rd you will find an eight-acre corn maze, u-pick pumpkin patches, a haunted straw maze, and apple orchards still heavy with fruit. Here is your 2026 harvest guide, with the dates and details that matter for a family outing, a date night, or an afternoon with the kids.

Cherry Hill Farms: The Closest Fall Festival to Greenleaf

Cherry Hill Farms at 19125 Apricot Lane in Caldwell is the closest full harvest festival to Greenleaf, about 10 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. Its Fall Festival and Corn Maze runs September 25 through October 31, 2026, with an eight-acre corn maze, a u-pick pumpkin patch, a u-pick apple orchard, barrel-train and cow-train rides, tube slides, a straw bale maze, farm animals, and craft and food vendors. The big weekend is Apple Days, October 23-24, when u-pick apples and fresh-pressed cider take center stage. From October 1 the farm is open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with an earlier close of 3:00 PM on October 31. Details and tickets at cherryhillfarms.com. Shindig Farms: Idaho's Largest Straw Maze, Then the Haunted Version

Shindig Farms near Nampa is home to Idaho's largest straw maze, and by October it splits into two moods. By day, the farm runs family-friendly pumpkin and harvest activities about 20 minutes from Greenleaf. After dark, its Haunted Straw Maze opens on 10 nights in October from 8:00 to 11:00 PM, with tube slides, a barrel ride, a tire wall, and corn hole along the way. It is the local favorite for older kids and teens who want a little spook with their fall.

The Berry Ranch: Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins in Nampa

The Berry Ranch at 7998 Highway 20/26 in Nampa opens its pick-your-own pumpkin patch on the last Friday of September and runs through October 31. It is an easy drive from Greenleaf and a relaxed spot to pick pumpkins straight off the vine without the crowds, about 15 minutes east on Highway 20/26.

Lowe Family Farmstead: A 13-Acre Maze in Kuna

Lowe Family Farmstead at 2500 South Eagle Road in Kuna runs September 12 through October 31 (closed Sundays) and stacks up as one of the valley's biggest harvest destinations: a 13-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch with more than 55 varieties, tractor hayrides, and a flower field. The steepest maze in the area is about 35 minutes from Greenleaf, worth the drive for the scale alone.

U-Pick Apples and Orchards, From Emmett to the Sunnyslope

For apples, the dedicated orchards cluster north of the valley. Tyler's Rocky Point Orchard at 993 Hermosa Street and Anderson Apple Ranch at 4550 Harvest Lane, both in Emmett about 40 minutes from Greenleaf, run apple-picking season from September through late October. Closer to home, don't forget that the property at 20602 Academy Rd has its own producing peach tree, and the farm stands along Chicken Dinner Road put fresh fruit within a few minutes of the front door. If you are after cherries, apricots, and peaches, The Orchard at Lake Lowell in Nampa is the summer u-pick stop, while October is the month for apples and pumpkins.

A Harvest Weekend From 20602 Academy Rd

This is the season when Greenleaf's location pays off. A Saturday can start at a farm stand along Highway 19, reach Cherry Hill Farms' corn maze by mid-morning, pick apples in Emmett after lunch, and end with the fire pit in the fully fenced yard at 20602 Academy Rd while the sun drops behind the Owyhees. October in the Treasure Valley is a short season, so the farm calendars below are worth bookmarking.

For more seasonal dates, see our complete October events calendar and the community events page, or contact me to schedule a tour of 20602 Academy Rd before the leaves fall.
