This Week Near Greenleaf: September 8-14, 2026

· By Paul Knighton

With Labor Day behind us and the second week of the school year underway, September is settling into its rhythm in the Treasure Valley. This week brings one of Boise's most beloved art festivals, a fall festival at Expo Idaho, the weekly Greenleaf Farmers Market, and the kickoff of Sunnyslope Wine Month, with the Indian Creek Festival exactly one week away. If you live at 20602 Academy Rd, here is everything happening near you from September 8 through September 14.

Art in the Park: September 11-13

Boise Art Museum's premier open-air festival returns to Julia Davis Park with more than 240 artists from across the country. Paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media fill the park alongside live music, food vendors, and hands-on art activities for children. Admission is free, and the festival runs Friday through Sunday. It is about 35 minutes from Greenleaf, making it an easy day trip to soak up the city's creative energy.

Boise Fall Festival: Sunday, September 13

Expo Idaho hosts a seasonal celebration on Sunday, September 13 with artisan markets, live music, food trucks, and fall-themed family activities. Admission is free. A relaxed way to spend a fall afternoon, it is about 40 minutes east of Greenleaf via I-84.

Greenleaf Farmers Market: Wednesday, September 9

The closest market to home runs Wednesdays from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Highway 19, just across from downtown Greenleaf. Fresh local produce, baked goods, honey, handmade crafts, and the chance to catch up with neighbors. The next market is Wednesday, September 9, and the season continues through the fall.

Sunnyslope Wine Month: All September

September is Sunnyslope Wine Month on the Sunnyslope Wine Trail, the heart of Idaho's wine country just southwest of Caldwell. More than a dozen wineries offer special harvest tastings, winemaker dinners, vineyard tours, and new vintage releases throughout the month. The autumn colors across the vineyards are already starting to show, and the trail is just 15 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd.

Indian Creek Festival: One Week Away, September 18-19

Caldwell's signature fall event returns Friday and Saturday next week as the 23rd Annual Indian Creek Festival. The classic car show, live music across multiple stages, the quirky cardboard kayak race, vendor booths, a food court, and activities for all ages take over Indian Creek Plaza. It is free, family-friendly, and just 11 minutes from home in Greenleaf. Read our full guide to the event.

Tuesdays on the Creek: Free Summer Concerts Continue

The free outdoor concert series at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell continues on Tuesday evenings through September 29. Grab dinner from the nearby shops and enjoy live music along the creek, just a short drive from Greenleaf.
