This Week Near Greenleaf: September 22-28, 2026

· By Paul Knighton

The week of September 22 through 28 is when fall truly opens in the Treasure Valley. The Cherry Hill Farms Fall Festival and corn maze begin, the ICA Finals Rodeo crowns its champions, and an Oktoberfest weekend lands in Nampa and Boise. If you live at 20602 Academy Rd, the season is now within an easy drive of home.

Cherry Hill Farms Fall Festival Opens: Friday, September 25

The closest fall festival to Greenleaf returns for its fifth season on Friday, September 25, at 19125 Apricot Lane in Caldwell, about 10 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd. An 8-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch, u-pick apples, wagon rides, farm animals, and fresh apple cider run through October 31. It is the seasonal anchor of the fall calendar for Greenleaf families. Read our full fall launch weekend guide.

ICA Finals Rodeo: September 25-27

The Idaho Cowboys Association championship rodeo takes over D&B Supply Arena in Caldwell for the weekend. The season's top athletes compete in bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, and barrel racing, all just 15 minutes from Greenleaf. It is a celebration of Idaho's western heritage that brings the whole valley together.

Nampa Home & Lifestyle Expo: Fall Edition

The free Nampa Home & Lifestyle Expo returns to The Center at the Canyon County Fairgrounds September 25-27 (Friday 12-6 PM, Saturday 10 AM-5 PM, Sunday 11 AM-4 PM). Home improvement show-only deals, live demos, prize drawings, and local contractors and designers under one roof. A practical stop for homeowners planning fall projects, about 20 minutes from Greenleaf.

Oktoberfest Weekend: Saturday, September 26

Saturday brings a pair of Oktoberfest celebrations within easy reach. The Nampa Civic Center hosts its own Oktoberfest with German-inspired food, local craft brews, and live music, about 20 minutes from home. Downtown Boise's Old Boise Oktoberfest at 6th and Grove runs 2-10 PM with food, live music, and craft brews, about 35 minutes east via I-84.

Markets to Catch Before the Season Winds Down

The Farm and Fork Farmers Market at Indian Creek Plaza runs Tuesdays 5:00-8:00 PM, with the final market of the season on September 29. The Greenleaf Farmers Market continues Wednesdays 3:00-6:00 PM on Highway 19, just across from downtown. And September is still Sunnyslope Wine Month on the wine trail southwest of Caldwell, with harvest tastings at more than a dozen wineries. These are the last chances to enjoy the season's fresh local produce before the fall markets close.

A Small-Town Rhythm: Irrigation Season Ends September 25

A quiet signal that autumn has arrived: the City of Greenleaf ends its municipal irrigation season the morning of Friday, September 25. It is one of those small seasonal markers that remind you Greenleaf is a true agricultural community, where the calendar still follows the growing season. The Greenleaf community meeting on September 30 is another chance to hear town updates and connect with neighbors.

The Week Ahead: October Arrives

Looking just past this week, October brings Hay Day at Indian Creek Plaza on October 3, the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in Ketchum October 7-11, and a full month of pumpkin patches, cider festivals, and haunted attractions. See the complete October calendar.
