This Week Near Greenleaf: October 27 - November 2, 2026

· By Paul Knighton

Halloween week lands October 27 through November 2, and it is the busiest stretch of the fall calendar near Greenleaf: the 39th Annual Downtown Nampa Trick-or-Treat on Thursday, October 29, a family trunk-or-treat in Caldwell on Friday, October 30, and Boise State's Halloween Night game Saturday, October 31. It is also the final week for most pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and haunted attractions before the holiday season begins. For families at 20602 Academy Rd, it is a week built for costumes, candy, and crisp evenings around the fire pit.

Downtown Nampa Trick-or-Treat: Thursday, October 29, 4-7 PM

The 39th Annual Downtown Nampa Trick-or-Treat runs Thursday, October 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with shops and businesses along the historic district passing out candy to costumed kids, free of charge. It is a safe, small-town-style Halloween tradition about 20 minutes from 20602 Academy Rd, and it gives families an early, well-lit outing before the big night. Read our October nights out guide.

Trunk or Treat in Caldwell: Friday, October 30

Caldwell's Archer's Auto Repair hosts its 4th Annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 30 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM, a family-friendly evening of decorated trunks, candy, and community, listed on the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce calendar. It is one of several trunk-or-treat gatherings across the valley that week, all within an easy drive of Greenleaf, and a great option for younger kids who prefer a well-lit, car-lined route over door-to-door.

Boise State Halloween Night Game: Saturday, October 31, 8 PM

Boise State hosts Texas State at Albertsons Stadium on Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 PM, a Halloween night game that has become a Treasure Valley tradition. It is about 40 minutes from Greenleaf via I-84 east, and for families staying closer to home, the fully fenced yard at 20602 Academy Rd makes a great base for your own candy route on Halloween evening.

The Final Harvest and Haunt Weekends

This is the last week for most of the fall farm season. Cherry Hill Farms Fall Festival at 19125 Apricot Lane in Caldwell runs through October 31 with its corn maze, pumpkin patch, and family activities, and the pumpkin patches and corn mazes at Shindig Farms and Vala's near Nampa close out their seasons. Roaring Springs' drive-through Spooky Light Show in Meridian wraps up October 30, while the Haunted World at 20031 Northside Blvd and Requiem Haunted House at 810 Main St in Caldwell keep their fall-evening haunt schedules through Halloween night.

The Holiday Season Ahead

As soon as Halloween passes, the Treasure Valley turns to the holidays. The Winter Wonderland Festival lights up Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell for its opening weekend November 20-22, with more than 1.5 million lights, Idaho's only outdoor ice-skating ribbon, Santa visits, and the city Christmas tree lighting, and the display stays on through mid-January. Greenleaf's own Country Christmas Bazaar returns in November, and the Light the World Giving Machines come back to the plaza for the season. Read our Winter Wonderland preview.

Life at 20602 Academy Rd: Halloween Week at Home

Halloween week is when Greenleaf's small-town character shines. From 20602 Academy Rd you can take the kids to Downtown Nampa Trick-or-Treat, catch a trunk-or-treat in Caldwell, and still come home to hand out candy on a quiet rural road with a fully fenced yard and a fire pit ready for the first truly cold nights. The home's solar and battery backup, tankless water heater, and whole-house filtration make the seasonal change comfortable, and the covered patio is a cozy spot for a warm drink while the neighborhood winds down for the year.
