This Week Near Greenleaf: October 16-22, 2026

· By Paul Knighton

The week of October 16 through 22 turns the Treasure Valley into a festival corridor: Viva Nampa Fest and the 208 Night Market fill downtown Nampa tonight, Saturday brings EnduroCross, the Makers Market, Trunk or Treat with Track Shark, and the Canyon County Symphony's Halloween at the Symphony in Caldwell, and early voting for the November 3 election opens Monday. For anyone calling 20602 Academy Rd home, nearly every night this week has something worth doing within a 20-minute drive.

Tonight: Viva Nampa Fest and the 208 Night Market

The second annual Viva Nampa Fest takes over downtown Nampa tonight, Friday, October 16, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM with free admission. Live music and the monthly 208 Night Market bring local vendors and food trucks to the streets of the historic district, making it one of the liveliest fall evenings in the valley and an easy weeknight outing about 20 minutes from Greenleaf.

The Addams Family: Final Shows at the Nampa Civic Center

Music Theatre of Idaho presents The Addams Family at the Nampa Civic Center at 311 3rd Street S, with final performances tonight and Saturday, October 16-17, at 7:30 PM. The spooky-fun musical is a perfect bridge between harvest season and Halloween. Tickets through the venue.

Saturday, October 17: EnduroCross, the Makers Market, and Trunk or Treat

Saturday stacks three crowd favorites into one day. Round 2 of the AMA EnduroCross Championship races into the Ford Idaho Center Arena in Nampa at 7:00 PM, with motocross, trials, and extreme off-road racing on an indoor course of boulders, logs, and water sections. The Makers Market at Franz Witte Garden Center at 20005 11th Ave N runs the same day with local artisans, handmade gifts, and the garden center's signature fall planters and mums. And Trunk or Treat with Track Shark at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell runs 5:00 to 7:00 PM, a free, family-friendly Halloween evening of costumes, candy, and clean and show cars lining the plaza.

Halloween at the Symphony: Saturday Evening in Caldwell

New to this weekend's lineup, the Canyon County Symphony presents Halloween at the Symphony on Saturday, October 17 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Jewett Auditorium on the College of Idaho campus, 2112 Cleveland Blvd in Caldwell. The orchestra's event listing describes a family-friendly evening, and Jewett concerts typically run $5 to $25, with a $60 Music Association of Canyon County season pass covering all events. Details through canyoncountysymphony.org or maccidaho.org. About 10 minutes from Greenleaf.

Early Voting Opens Monday, October 19

In-person early voting for the November 3 election opens Monday, October 19 at the Canyon County Elections Building, and the absentee ballot request deadline is Friday, October 23. Idaho voters will decide four statewide measures plus state and county races, and Greenleaf's precinct is small enough that every ballot counts. Read our full voter guide.

Live Music Midweek: In This Moment at Revolution Concert House

Revolution Concert House in Caldwell keeps its strong October run going with In This Moment on Wednesday, October 21. The venue has hosted one of the season's biggest local lineups, and it is about 10 minutes from Greenleaf. Tickets through the venue.

The Weekend Ahead: Apple Days and the Greenleaf Friends Academy Fall Gala

Next weekend, October 23-24, is one of the busiest of the fall. Apple Days lands at Cherry Hill Farms October 23-24 with u-pick apples and fresh-pressed cider at 19125 Apricot Lane in Caldwell, and Greenleaf Friends Academy hosts its Fall Gala on Saturday, October 24 from 5:30 to 10:00 PM at the NNU Brandt Center Grand Lobby, 707 Fern Street in Nampa. The Gala is a fundraiser for the private, Quaker-founded classical Christian school in Greenleaf, with dinner, fellowship, and live and silent auctions. Tickets through the school at gfaschools.org.

From Home at 20602 Academy Rd

Weeks like this one are why Greenleaf sells itself. From 20602 Academy Rd you can catch Trunk or Treat with Track Shark at Indian Creek Plaza at 5:00 PM Saturday, slide over to Jewett Auditorium for Halloween at the Symphony at 7:00 PM, and still be home for a fire in the stone fire pit in the fully fenced yard. Next week, Apple Days and the town's own school gala close out a month where the whole valley feels like a celebration, with a quiet country road to come home to.
